What is OCD?

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a disorder in which individuals experience reoccurring, intrusive and unwanted thoughts (Obsessions) typically followed by strong urges to find relief from the thoughts through repetitive behaviors (Compulsions).

What Therapy Helps OCD?

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy is an evidenced based therapy shown to be effective in treating OCD. ERP helps gradually expose an individual to the OCD fear without completing the compulsive feedback loop. Eventually, our brain adapts to the new practice and therefore ‘unlearns’ the OCD loop. OCD can feel debilitating and begin to significantly impair quality of life. I specialize in treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and facilitating Exposure and Response Prevention therapy to help clients develop ways to overcome their OCD.
