Background
My career began in 2014 as a social worker, providing therapeutic services in schools, inpatient, and in-home therapy settings. After completing my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, I worked in various therapeutic inpatient and outpatient settings with adults and children.
I started Grierson Counseling in 2018 to best meet the community's needs and promote wellness for those seeking counseling services. While I continue to see clients with diverse therapeutic goals, my practice specializes in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders, such as hoarding disorder, body-focused repetitive behavior (skin picking, hair pulling), phobias, and anxiety.
I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision as I am passionate about training future and new counselors in the mental health field. In addition to being a counselor, I am a full-time lecturer at a local graduate counseling program. I also provide clinical supervision for counselors and offer consultation for healthcare professionals working with OCD and related disorders.
I enjoy presenting in my local community to promote awareness of evidence-based practices for conditions such as OCD. Additionally, I conduct research and write articles to improve understanding of these topics and reduce stigma in the mental health field.
On a personal note, I am a Dayton native who enjoys running, traveling, hiking, and spending time outdoors with my husband and our two pugs.
